Very cool idea man!! If I was to feed them just plant matter would they survive on it or even eat it? If they did just eat plant matter could you then use there waste? I’m thinking the only reason you would not be able to use there waste would be because of meat products in there poop.

@thesunsetreptiles Keep the mature larvae (dark colored) in a container with a few inches of sawdust or peat. They don’t need as much moisture as juvenile larvae do but don’t let them become too dry; I can’t be precise about this but try to keep them very lightly damp. Add too much water at once and they’ll crawl up and out of most containers. Mature larvae don’t eat, so don’t feed. Aim for 80-90ºF, lower is ok but will take longer. It can take a month or longer for emergence. Good luck!

@NCRxtreme I do offer starter kits at my blog during the mating season. BSF adults just started emerging where I live so I can put together kits in a few weeks. I’m going to make a PayPal button for them in the next few days.
I might also do the composters if enough people show interest.
